Oil Removal Filter
Article: The Best Way to Dewater New Transformer Bunds
The Green Rhino® Oil Removal Filter fits to a bund or tank and removes all hydrocarbon contaminants from the outflow. It is designed for applications with higher flow (up to 80L/min) and/or a higher risk or level of contamination. The filter will retain up to 14 litres of oil before needing to be replaced
Water enters the filter from the bund outflow and passes through the smart polymer hydrocarbon filter. The smart polymer turns hydrocarbons into solid rubber, trapping them inside. Clean water is discharged through the outer surface of the filter. Hydrocarbons are reduced to non-detect levels (as low as 0.01ppm oil concentration).
A wide range of hydrocarbons can be captured, including dielectric fluids, oil, diesel and used motor oils.
When all the polymer has been activated, flow is naturally blocked so no leakage can occur. This also means that the cartridges deliver a failsafe response when a catastrophic breach occurs. A build-up of water in the bund indicates that the filter needs replacing.
These filters require minimal maintenance as they have no mechanical parts and no power requirements.
A fitting kit enables the filter to be removed and replaced without any leakage of contaminants occurring.
